The TKU Commencement for 2002 will be held today (June 8) at TKU Student Center, Tamsui. A total of 7711 TKU students will henceforth become TKU fellows as of today.
The Commencement will be presided over by Pres. Chang Horng-jinh.
Following is the list of dignitaries whose honored presence will lend solemnity to the occasion: Dr. & Mrs. Clement C.P. Chang, Founder as well as Chair, Board of Trustees, TKU, Mr. Hung Hung-hsiang, Mr. Lin Kun-chung, members of the BOT, former presidents Drs. Chen Yea-hong and Lin Yun-shan; Mr. Chen Yung-sheng, Pres.,Yu Tah Vocational/Business College; Mr. Liu Ching-chang, Pres., Taiwan Police Academy; Dr. Chuang Chih-ming, Pres., National Air University, Kaohsiung; Ms. Liu Shih-fong, ROC Legislator; Dr. Kenneth Hou, President, TKU World Alumni/ae Association, etc.
As has been done in the past, a medley of awards will be handed out to the students. They include Carrie Chang Award, Academic Achievement Award, Meritorious Moral Conduct Award, Service Award, etc.
This year, Mr. Hsieh Ming-chao from Department of Information Management has been singled out to receive the Unusually Diligent (Studious) Student Award.
After the ceremony, a tour around party will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 for which Pres. Chang Horng-jinh and deans and chairs will lead the graduating students to tour around the campus for the last time.
