Nearly 30 clubs are organizing winter camps that will start from next week onwards, according to the Extracurricular Activities Guidance Section. These camps will serve as a way of connecting all existing members and a relaxing occasion to recharge.

Among these clubs, Folk Dance Club will begin their camp this weekend (8 and 9). They have already invited a trainer from the Dior Folk Dance Club to demonstrate some new dances. Those who are interested, please call Fan Cheng-hou, the director of the club at 092043253, for details.

Between the 10th and 14th of this month, Tamkang Chorus and Harmonica Club will host their camps respectively. The former will offer programs that consist of vocal training, body language, conducting, opera appreciation and so forth. To register, please call Lin Yu-shin at 0939911929. The latter will teach total beginners to be competent harmonica players in the five days and four nights period. Apart from learning, there will be movies and parties at night. Tamkang Christian Psalms Club will organize a midnight mass at the Ching Sheng Square on Jan. 10. All members will perform various psalms, songs from Israel and some modern Christian songs. Singing apart, they will also share their thoughts on Christianity with whoever cares to join them on this evening.

Skating Club will not sit around but skate all the way from Yuan Shan MRT Station to Da Kuai River Bank Park after they have introduced the history and gears of skating to participants. The camp is entitled as "The Era of Skating, the King of the Road" to show everyone how thrilling it can be to skate on the road.

The departmental club of the Chemistry Department will organize a basketball camp on Feb. 19 and 20, aiming to train referees rather than players. Participants will learn how to count time and move on the court as well as familiarize themselves with rules set between 2001 and 2004. There will be a written exam and physical test on the last day. Those who pass them will be awarded with a referee license valid for TKU only.

Not every club has sports and actions in mind. The Business Administration Association, for example, offers its participants some managerial training such as planning and organization.
