MUSIC CLUBS MESMERIZED TKU

A heavenly evening for many people would be spent in the smell of delicious coffee, delightful music and a glorious sunset. Well, this heaven is nearer than one thinks. Last Tuesday, December 14, an evening as such unveiled in the event entitled “Thanksgiving Concert” organized by the Office of Student Affairs and performed by the seven music clubs of TKU.

The concert was kicked off by a piano duet delivering music that was a feast to the ears and eyes. It was followed by Tamkang Chorus singing several well-known tunes that relaxed the audience who were soon entertained by the String-instrument Playing Social Club’s “Whit Peony” and “Butterfly’s Favorite Flowers”. The club also played a new version of a Chinese old song “Unforgettable Love” so movingly that it even brought tears to some of the audience.

Chinese Zither Club made sure that they would not be outshone by the string-instrument so they played some hummable familiar classical Chinese music that the audience could not help but to sing along. Chinese Music Club, on the other hand, played a dance symphony, whereas the Harmonica Club played some folksy music. Guitar Club performed several popular love songs such as “Garbage Truck” as well as “I was in love with you once”. After all these amazing performances, the concert was wrapped up with the song “Lydia”, played by the Piano Club. (~Ying-hsueh Hu)
