President Huan-Chao Keh expressed his gratitude to all faculty, staff, and students for their joint efforts — from the university’s robotics team winning its 14th FIRA RoboWorld Cup All-Round Championship, to record-breaking achievements in NSTC Undergraduate Research and Teaching Practice Projects for three consecutive years, and the faculty’s outstanding academic performance. He noted that Tamkang’s commitment to providing a high-quality and sustainable learning environment has made it an increasingly attractive choice for high school graduates. He encouraged the new students to engage in interdisciplinary learning throughout their university journey, to strengthen their problem-solving abilities, broaden their knowledge horizons, enhance their creativity, and improve their communication skills, so that upon graduation, they may achieve meaningful growth and success, and create a brilliant life of their own.
During the orientation workshop for newly appointed department and program heads in the 2025 academic year, President Keh announced the good news of full enrollment, emphasizing that departments are the heart of a university — when they excel and develop their unique strengths, the university thrives. He called on all departments to leverage their existing advantages by integrating information and communication technologies to improve learning efficiency, adopting cross-disciplinary mechanisms to enrich student expertise, and developing distinctive departmental features in response to rapid societal changes. At the Freshman and Parent Orientation, President Keh further highlighted that Tamkang has become an official NVIDIA-partnered AI University, actively advancing its twin development visions of “AI+SDGs=∞” and “ESG+AI=∞.” Through close collaborations with Microsoft, NVIDIA, and other international corporations, Tamkang has established Taiwan’s first All-Cloud Smart campus, creating a safe, convenient, and low-carbon learning environment where students can study joyfully and achieve excellence.
In enhancing students’ post-graduation competitiveness, Dean of Academic Affairs Tzong-Ru Tsai noted that Tamkang University continues to promote a flexible academic system, encouraging students to pursue second and third specialties through interdisciplinary studies. Students are also encouraged to pursue overseas exchange and industry internship opportunities to enhance their employability. Curriculum-wise, Tamkang aims for “AI empowerment (AIO)”, fully implementing AI-integrated teaching beginning in the 2025 academic year, including the development of smart classrooms and AI-enhanced professional courses to boost learning effectiveness and AI literacy, complemented by AI ethics education to ensure responsible use of AI tools. Additionally, the university incorporates USR projects into coursework, establishing a Social Practice Academy and promoting Student-Initiated Learning Programs, which enable students to apply professional knowledge creatively to community engagement while honing their project planning and teamwork skills.
Tamkang University’s vast alumni network has always been among its greatest strengths—330,000 alumni are distributed across the globe. Alumni have made substantial contributions, including donations to build the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center, enhancing both campus facilities and academic prestige; over NT$40 million annually in scholarships and grants, ensuring that students can study without financial concerns; and partnerships with industries to offer practical training and collaboration opportunities that help students become job-ready talent. Alumni also play a vital role in organizing orientation sessions nationwide, sharing experiences with new students and parents, and connecting high schools with Tamkang University to attract outstanding high school students to join the Tamkang family.
