Graduate Institute of International Affairs and Strategic Studies (GIIAS) will host an open forum on issues related to Taiwan’s security and purchases of military defense weapons on Taipei Campus on October 9. The forum will begin at 9:30 am with talks that deal with the estimation on the military capacity of both sides of the Strait, needs and development of Taiwan’s security defense system together with critical views on Taiwan’s military purchases from the U.S.
Wang Gao-chen, the Chair of GIIAS will moderate the talks. Invited speakers include Wong Ming-hsien, the associate professor of GIIAS; Alexander Chieh-Cheng Huang, the Chair of the Graduate Institute of American Studies; Lai Yue-qian, Director of the Center for Studies in Public Polices and Affairs at the Ming Hsin University of Science and Technology; Chen Jing-fu of the Information Management Department at the Yuan-Ze University and Chang Ming-rui of the Research and Development Center at the Fu Jen Catholic University.
