Tamkang University Wins the MOE Excellence in Sports Award for the 5th Time, Tying NTU for the Most Wins Nationwide
Congratulations! Tamkang University won the “2024 School Sports Torch Award from the Sports Administration (SA), Ministry of Education (MOE). Together with the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology and the National Taiwan University of Physical Education and Sports, Tamkang University was awarded the Excellence in College Sports Award. This marks the 5th time our university has received this honor, following wins in 2009, 2013, 2016, and 2020, tying with the National Taiwan University for the most wins nationwide. For 3 times, the two universities were selected simultaneously. On the afternoon of September 24 at 1:30 p.m., President Huan-Chao Keh, along with Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu, Vice President for International Affairs Hsiao-Chuan Chen, Dean of Physical Education I-Cheng Chen, Dean of Student Affairs Shih-Jung Wu, and several faculty members from the Office of Physical Education, attended the award ceremony held at the 11th floor of the Chang Yung-Fa Foundation International Conference Hall to accept the award.

Sustainability Reporting and Value Communication Conference: Faculty, Staff, and Students Collaborate to Create Diverse Value
Tamkang University's medium- and long-term goals for sustainable development guided by AI+SDGs=∞and ESG+AI=∞, aim to become a glocalized, cloud-smart, and sustainable future resilient university city. On the afternoon of September 25, the Center for Sustainable Development and Social Innovation (SDSI) hosted the "2024 Tamkang University Sustainability Reporting and Value Communication Conference" at the Hsu Shou Chlien International Conference Center. The event was presided over by the Vice President for Academic Affairs and Center Director, Professor Hui-Huang Hsu, and attended by the Vice President for International Affairs, Professor Hsiao-Chuan Chen, as well as first-level supervisors. The conference featured the release of the Sustainability Report, the Social Responsibility Annual Report, and the Carbon Inventory Report, showcasing Tamkang University's achievements in promoting sustainable development in 2023.

International Foundation Program Welcome Event: A Warm Reception for 35 New Tamkang Members
The Office of International and Cross-Strait Affairs held the 2024 academic year's "International Foundation Program Welcome Event" on September 23 in the HC 307 room of the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center. The event was hosted by the Vice President for International Affairs, Professor. Hsiao-Chuan Chen, with the Dean of International Affairs, Professor. Chien-Mu Yeh, Secretary of the office and Chief of the International and Cross-Strait Exchange Section, Ms. Hsinying Acid Chu, and Chief of the International and Mainland Students Guidance Section and the International Foundation Program, Ms. Nastia Lin, leading their teams to welcome 35 new students from Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, and other countries into the Tamkang University family.

Exploring the New Hakka Identity in Southeast Asia: History Department Invites Prof. Michael Hsin-Huang Hsiao and Prof. Han-Pi Chang to Discuss New Book
The Department of History, in collaboration with the Taiwan Association of Southeast Asian Studies, held the book launch for The Diverse Expressions of Hakka Identity in Southeast Asia (「東南亞客家族群性的多樣展現」) on September 20 at 4:00 p.m. in the Hsu Shou Chlien International Conference Center. The book was co-authored by Dr. Shu-Ming Chang, an alumnus of the Department of History and Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Hakka Language and Social Sciences at National Central University, and scholars such as Assistant Professor Tsung-Yuan Chen from the Department of History at Tamkang University. The event featured keynote speakers, including the book’s 2 chief editors, Senior Advisor to the President and Chair Professor at the College of Hakka Studies of National Central University, Professor Michael Hsin-Huang Hsiao, and Distinguished Professor Han-Pi Chang from National Central University, and other authors. Other guests, including Con-Ziin Yiong, former Chairman of the Hakka Affairs Council, and young Hakka scholars, also participated in the event.
