Starting recruiting new students, Tamkang’s Lanyang Campus has acquired miscellaneous utility permission in early February. Preparatory Office said that the construction of buildings would begin by the end of March according to the original plan.

The whole construction project of Tamkang’s Lanyang campus (on Mt. Linmei, Chiao-si Village) began in May 2001, and in the following two years, passed the attacks of Nari and Nakli typhoons. The project was once revised. The proceeding of miscellaneous construction, originally planned to complete in February 2003, was thus delayed. After the limitations of the policies on mountain slop constructions and the climatic and geographical difficulties have been overcome, the miscellaneous utility permission was finally authorized by Ilan county government, which is good news for the proceeding toward the completion of construction and recruiting next year.

Director of Preparatory Office, Chiaosi Chen-yuan Cheng indicated that the registering procedure of land utility (land for specific business) has been finished, and the procedures of procuring and transferring land ownership are also in progress.
