Co-hosted by Tamkang University and Tasa Meng Corporation, the "Radiant Calligraphy and Painting: Ben-Hang Chang's Special Exhibition" (「翰墨燦燦-張炳煌書畫特展」) and "E-Transition to New Art: Master Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" (「e轉新藝-名家書畫作品展」) are on display until February 4 of next year at the Art and Cultural Exhibition Space and boarding corridors in Zone D of Terminal 2 at Taoyuan International Airport. The exhibitions allow international travelers to appreciate the beauty of calligraphy during their arrival and departure. The opening ceremony and press conference were held on November 6 at 2 PM in the Art and Cultural Exhibition Space of Terminal 2, Zone D. Distinguished guests included Taoyuan International Airport Chairman Wei-Fuu Yang; Director of Aviation Police Bureau under National Police Agency, Ministry of Interior, Wen-Liang Chiu; Taipei Customs, CA, MOF Director Tai-An Chao; and China Pacific Catering Chairman Hwa-Kuan Chang, along with over 70 attendees who joined in celebrating the event.
Tasa Meng Chairperson Su-Chi Ku expressed her gratitude to all the distinguished guests for their support in her speech, noting that cultural activities like calligraphy are highly appreciated by travelers at the airport. The curator, Director of the Carrie Chang Fine Arts Center at Tamkang University, and renowned calligraphy master Ben-Hang Chang explained that the exhibition was designed to attract visitors to explore and experience Tamkang University's e-pen calligraphy system. This system allows people to enjoy the art of calligraphy most conveniently while ensuring its sustainable legacy through digitalization. Chang demonstrated live calligraphy and painting using the e-pen and reminded attendees to save the artwork via AirDrop. Attendees were thrilled and eagerly took out their phones to collect the master’s work. Chang announced his upcoming exhibition, "Boundless Calligraphy: International Calligraphy Masters Invitational Exhibition" (「翰墨無邊-國際書法名家邀請展」) which will be held at the Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center in Taoyuan City starting November 17. He warmly invited everyone interested in calligraphy to visit the exhibition.
The "Radiant Calligraphy and Painting: Ben-Hang Chang's Special Exhibition" showcases numerous calligraphy masterpieces by Ben-Hang Chang, featuring impactful poetic and literary phrases. These works not only highlight the artistic readability of calligraphy but also allow visitors to appreciate its aesthetic charm. Meanwhile, the "E-Transition to New Art: Master Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" displays e-pen creations by various renowned domestic artists. Each e-pen work is dynamically presented, such as the piece "Tiger" by Tamkang University's resident artist Cheen Shen, which intricately depicts a tiger walking in the snow with lifelike detail. By scanning the QR code below each artwork, viewers can watch the dynamic creation process and witness how the artwork comes to life. They can also scan the code to take the piece home for leisure. At the D5 boarding gate, the Smart e-Pen Experience Zone allows visitors to try the e-pen firsthand. Since its installation in September, it has been a favorite among travelers, adding fun and engagement to their waiting time before boarding.
