【Reported by An-jia Chen, Ling-yu Ceng, Tamkang Times】From April 21st to the 25th Dean of Tamkang University’s College of Liberal Arts, Sinn-cheng Lin, lead an expedition to Tongji University in Shanghai. He was accompanied by Director of the Department of Information and Library Science, Mei-yu Wang, Assistant Professor of the Department of Chinese, Ming-hao Ma, Assistant Professor of the Department of History, Yueh Wang, Assistant Professor of the Department of Mass Communication, Ming-yu Yang and Lecturer from the Department of Mass Communication, Hsian-fu Lu. Also attending the conference were representatives from sister schools, East China Normal University and Nanjing University.
On this particular visit professors, deans and administrators had a discussion involving the designing and structuring of an academic exchange. During the discussion TKU representatives were able to discover strong aspirations for mainland students to travel to Taiwan for study. Also hopes were expressed for the College of Liberal Arts to open a teacher and student exchange with Tongji University in the near future. Sinn-cheng Lin stated, “Tongji University will come to TKU in July to discuss strengthening our relationship and establishing an exchange program between our universities.” Cheng-bo Wang Stated, “This visit has created a mutual understanding of each university’s educational system. I really look forward to being able to work together in the future.”
