13 Students Graduate From First Asian-Pacific Long Distance Online Master Program

【Reported by Yan-ling Chen, Tamkang Times】Tamkang University held a graduation ceremony for its first “Asian-Pacific Long Distance Online Master Program” in the Chueh-sheng International Conference Hall on January 17th. After two years, thirteen international students were successful in their completion of the course. In attendance for the graduation ceremony was President Flora Chia-I Chang, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Gwo-hsing Yu, Vice President of International Affairs, Wan-chin Tai, and Dean of the Graduate Institute of the Americas, Hsiao-chuan Chen. Also invited to make an appearance was the Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Latin America, Mr. Jorge Alvaro Pozzi Ciaran. Everyone came together in this special ceremony to congratulate these 13 individuals of this elite digital graduate program.

President Chang stated, “This is the first time we have ever held a graduation ceremony in the winter season. I know it must have been difficult for these individuals to finish this challenging program while still having to work on their careers. We all wholeheartedly respect your effort.” She also mentioned that she anticipates this will lead to the establishment of more relationships with other universities overseas. Mr. Jorge Alvaro Pozzi Ciaran explained that passing through this digital masters program will give the people a deeper understanding of Taiwan. “It encourages students to become more involved with foreign affairs. When you return to your country, be sure to tell your friends and family about the program.” Nicaraguan Ambassador, William Tapia Aleman, stated, “Modern online study programs are an excellent educational development. I eagerly anticipate the positive effects that these graduates will undoubtedly have on our society.”
