The Application Way Implemented in Tamkang University Next Year Will See Some Increase of Freshmen

Starting the school year 2002, the matriculation system for Tamkang University will undergo a change. This is largely due to the impact of multiple level implementation of the collegiate matriculation system. According to the statistics released by Office of Academic Affairs, there will be a further increase of l63 freshmen, which will bring up the total number of freshmen population to 68l in 2002.

Tamkang University Will Soon Have Its Own Librarian Association for Alumni/ae

A Librarian Association for Tamkang University’s Alumni/ae will be formally inaugurated on the coming Friday (October 26). It will be held in the Alumni/ae Liaison Hall, Taipei campus. This move was jointly put forward by Ms. Cheng Li-min, Deputy Director, Chueh Sheng Memorial Library, T.K.U. and Mr. Lin Cheng-huang, Chief Librarian of Cheng Ta. According to Mr. Chen Min-nan, Director, Office of Alumni/ae Services & Resources Development, there are more than l50 T.K.U. graduates now serving in the field of library science, and an active drive is being taken to urge them to join the T.K.U. Alumni/ae Librarian Association.

The construction plan of Tamkang University’s gymnasium which is due to begin at the end of year will be postponed because of the following reasons: that the frequent happenings of mudslide has caused Taipei hsien government to adopt more stringent stand against issuing builder’s permit and as such, T.K.U. has to change her construction plan to accommodate the authority’s water-and-soil conservation requirements.
