The official logo and slogan for Tamkang University’s 75th anniversary have been unveiled.

Tamkang University has officially unveiled its 75th anniversary logo and slogan, which will be used by all offices in related activities and promotional materials, marking the official start of the anniversary celebrations. The list of winners from the “75th Anniversary Logo & Slogan Design Contest” has also been announced on the university website and individually notified via email. Liberal Arts College Secures MOE iLink Funding Again to Cultivate Students’ AI and Sustainability Skills Across Disciplines
The College of Liberal Arts successfully implemented the first phase of the Ministry of Education’s iLink program, with students achieving outstanding results in competitions and interdisciplinary learning.

Tamkang University’s College of Liberal Arts has been awarded a NT$2.75 million grant under the Ministry of Education’s 2025 “Humanity-Social Sciences and Industrial Innovation Linkage Program” (iLink). Including previous phase-zero and phase-one grants, the total awarded funding now approaches NT$6 million. The winning project, titled “Tamkang University College of Liberal Arts Innovation Program: Cultivating Interdisciplinary and Sustainable Talent for the AI Era”, will run from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2027. Dean Huei-Chun Chi emphasized that this cross-disciplinary initiative integrates generative AI, data analysis, sustainability, net-zero carbon goals, and ESG into departmental and college-wide curricula. The goal is to strengthen students’ learning outcomes and equip them with immediately applicable industry skills.

Professor Chih-Hsin Chen, Chair of the Chemistry Department, led a Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) delegation to visit the Yung Shin Pharmaceutical Taichung Youth Factory.

From April 21 to April 30, Tamkang University’s Department of Chemistry invited representatives from our sister university, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in Malaysia, for an academic visit. The delegation included Dr. Lim Tuck Meng, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Ir. Prof. Dr. Ng Choon Aun, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Green Technology; and Dr. Ong Kiah Ju, Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Creative Industries. The purpose of the visit was to understand the operation of Tamkang’s signature science outreach program, “Chemistry On The Go,” and explore how it could be applied to benefit elementary and secondary schools in Malaysia.

On April 21, Michel Hunault, Honorary Member of the French Parliament, visited Tamkang University, accompanied by former Ambassador to France and Tamkang alumnus Michel Ching-Long Lu. Hunault met with Vice President for International Affairs Prof. Hsiao-Chuan Chen and engaged in a dialogue with students from the Department of French, sharing insights on the democratic systems, values, and experiences of international cooperation in France and Europe.

The 2025 World Book Day event, "Fantasy and Reality: Russian Fantasy Literature and Music Exhibition," is being held in the Reading Lounge on the 2nd floor of the library.

To commemorate the 85th anniversary of the death of Mikhail Bulgakov, a pioneer of magical realism, Tamkang University's Chueh Sheng Memorial Library, College of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and Department of Russian jointly held the 2025 World Book Day event under the theme “Fantasy and Reality: Russian Fantasy Literature and Music Exhibition.” The opening ceremony took place at 10:30 a.m. on April 23 at the Reading Lounge on the 2nd floor of the library. The event was attended by Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu, Board Member and Honorary Professor Wan-Chin Tai, Kirill Beliaev， Assistant to the Representative of the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation, Consular Section Officer Vargina, RTI Russian Section Chief Masha, and nearly 50 faculty members, staff, and students.

Anne Foss, Cultural Affairs Officer at the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), along with Program Managers Wanda Yang and Stella Chiu, visited Tamkang University’s Tamsui Campus on April 21. They met with the American high school students studying Mandarin at the Chinese Language Center under the Office of Continuing Education and engaged in exchange activities with the university. The AIT officials strongly recognized, praised, and supported Tamkang’s efforts to promote Taiwan–U.S. youth language and cultural exchange programs.

The closing ceremony of the 2025 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games (NIAG) took place on May 2 at Chang Jung Christian University. Tamkang University sent 11 teams to compete in track and field, swimming, badminton, tennis, taekwondo, judo, fencing, karate, soft tennis, woodball, and rugby, achieving impressive results with a total of 5 gold, 6 silver, and 14 bronze medals. Additional honors included 2nd place in the men's sabre team and 3rd place in the women's sabre team (fencing), 2nd place in the women's team event and 4th place in the men’s team event (soft tennis), 4th place in the men’s team sparring (taekwondo), 2nd place in the men’s team event and 6th place in the women’s open division (karate).

To enhance two-way communication between the university and its students, the Office of Student Affairs’ Student Guidance Section held the “Sophomore and Junior Class Representative Forum” at 12:30 p.m. on April 24 in the Chueh Sheng International Conference Hall. The forum was chaired by President Huan-Chao Keh and attended by three vice presidents, heads of various academic and administrative units, and class representatives, with over 110 participants in total.

To motivate students in the College of Business and Management to pursue certifications and enhance their job market competitiveness actively, Tamkang University alumnus Yung-Tsai Wang—graduate of the Departments of Business Administration and Insurance, and now Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics—donated NT$100,000 to establish the “Cheng-Tsai Certificate Scholarship.” The first award ceremony was held at noon on May 1 in Room B302E. A total of 20 students, who collectively earned 156 professional certifications, received the NT$5,000 scholarship each from Wang, along with her words of encouragement. Students also expressed their gratitude with handmade thank-you cards. Dean of the College of Business and Management, Prof. Li-Ren Yang, voiced appreciation for Wang’s selfless generosity and encouraged students to obtain professional certifications during their studies to demonstrate their job readiness and practical abilities.

On April 22 at noon, Shieh Yih Machinery Industrial Co., Ltd. visited Tamkang University's College of Engineering to host an exclusive Corporate Presentation and Internship Recruitment Event. The event attracted students from departments related to mechanical and electrical engineering. As one of the world’s top five servo press manufacturers and among the top 20 machine tool companies globally, Shieh Yih 's presentation was led by Deputy Manager of the Human Resources Department, Chih-Feng Chen, and joined by Yen-Shu Huang, Management Officer of the Service Department. The session provided an in-depth introduction to the company’s operations, product features, global market presence, and internship program, helping students grasp key opportunities for career development.

On the afternoon of April 21, the Publishing Center of Tamkang University’s Office of Research and Development hosted a forum on “Open Access and Journal Management” in HC303. Assistant Professor Tzu-Lan Tseng from the Department of Management Sciences shared insights on “The Development and Digital Transformation of Academic Journals: Strategies and Experiences to Enhance Impact.” Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu emphasized the importance of digitalization and Open Access (OA), stating, “By making research freely accessible online, academic outcomes can break geographical barriers and gain global visibility, while reducing paper usage also supports environmental sustainability.”

The 6th Taiwan-Japan Neutron Capture Therapy Academic Conference of Elite (TJNCT-ACE) was held on April 19 at the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center of Tamkang University. The event brought together more than 80 domestic and international scholars from institutions such as Gifu Pharmaceutical University, Kyoto University, Institute of Science Tokyo, Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Osaka University, Osaka Metropolitan University, Hiroshima University, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, National Taiwan University Hospital, National Changhua University of Education, and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU). An additional 20 participants joined online.

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Tamkang University, in collaboration with the IEEE Tainan Section Sensors Council Chapter (IEEE TSSCC) and the International Institute of Knowledge Innovation and Invention (IIKII), jointly hosted the 2025 5th International Conference on Electronic Communications, Internet of Things and Big Data (ICEIB) from April 25 to 27 at the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center. Conference Chair and Assistant Professor of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Shu-Han Liao, noted that ICEIB is a rare and prestigious international academic event in Taiwan. Tamkang University President Huan-Chao Keh and Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu served as honorary chairs. Through this annual platform, domestic and international scholars present their latest research, allowing the world to witness Taiwan’s vibrant progress in related fields and helping to elevate local researchers onto the global stage.
