Liberal Arts College Secures MOE iLink Funding Again to Cultivate Students’ AI and Sustainability Skills Across Disciplines
Tamkang University’s College of Liberal Arts has been awarded a NT$2.75 million grant under the Ministry of Education’s 2025 “Humanity-Social Sciences and Industrial Innovation Linkage Program” (iLink). Including previous phase-zero and phase-one grants, the total awarded funding now approaches NT$6 million. The winning project, titled “Tamkang University College of Liberal Arts Innovation Program: Cultivating Interdisciplinary and Sustainable Talent for the AI Era”, will run from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2027. Dean Huei-Chun Chi emphasized that this cross-disciplinary initiative integrates generative AI, data analysis, sustainability, net-zero carbon goals, and ESG into departmental and college-wide curricula. The goal is to strengthen students’ learning outcomes and equip them with immediately applicable industry skills.

2025 World Book Day: Embark on a Magical Journey Through Russian Fantasy Literature and Music
To commemorate the 85th anniversary of the death of Mikhail Bulgakov, a pioneer of magical realism, Tamkang University's Chueh Sheng Memorial Library, College of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and Department of Russian jointly held the 2025 World Book Day event under the theme “Fantasy and Reality: Russian Fantasy Literature and Music Exhibition.” The opening ceremony took place at 10:30 a.m. on April 23 at the Reading Lounge on the 2nd floor of the library. The event was attended by Vice President for Academic Affairs Hui-Huang Hsu, Board Member and Honorary Professor Wan-Chin Tai, Kirill Beliaev, Assistant to the Representative of the Moscow-Taipei Coordination Commission on Economic and Cultural Cooperation, Consular Section Officer Vargina, RTI Russian Section Chief Masha, and nearly 50 faculty members, staff, and students.

The closing ceremony of the 2025 National Intercollegiate Athletic Games (NIAG) took place on May 2 at Chang Jung Christian University. Tamkang University sent 11 teams to compete in track and field, swimming, badminton, tennis, taekwondo, judo, fencing, karate, soft tennis, woodball, and rugby, achieving impressive results with a total of 5 gold, 6 silver, and 14 bronze medals. Additional honors included 2nd place in the men's sabre team and 3rd place in the women's sabre team (fencing), 2nd place in the women's team event and 4th place in the men’s team event (soft tennis), 4th place in the men’s team sparring (taekwondo), 2nd place in the men’s team event and 6th place in the women’s open division (karate).

On April 22 at noon, Shieh Yih Machinery Industrial Co., Ltd. visited Tamkang University's College of Engineering to host an exclusive Corporate Presentation and Internship Recruitment Event. The event attracted students from departments related to mechanical and electrical engineering. As one of the world’s top five servo press manufacturers and among the top 20 machine tool companies globally, Shieh Yih 's presentation was led by Deputy Manager of the Human Resources Department, Chih-Feng Chen, and joined by Yen-Shu Huang, Management Officer of the Service Department. Department of Chemistry Hosts International Conference on Latest Advances in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy for Cancer
The 6th Taiwan-Japan Neutron Capture Therapy Academic Conference of Elite (TJNCT-ACE) was held on April 19 at the Hsu Shou-Chlien International Conference Center of Tamkang University. The event brought together more than 80 domestic and international scholars from institutions such as Gifu Pharmaceutical University, Kyoto University, Institute of Science Tokyo, Osaka Medical and Pharmaceutical University, Osaka University, Osaka Metropolitan University, Hiroshima University, Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taichung Veterans General Hospital, National Taiwan University Hospital, National Changhua University of Education, and National Tsing Hua University (NTHU). An additional 20 participants joined online.
