POET LAUREATE, LO FU, GAVE SPEECH AT HIS ALMA MATER
Lo Fu (Lo-fu Mo), a contemporary poet laureate, was invited by Founder Clement Chang to give speech and displayed calligraphy on the spot at Tamsui campus on December 19. 80 year-old Lo Fu, was graduated from the Department of English at 1973. His daughter, Fei Mo, son-in-law, and daughter-in-law, are all TKU alumni. Lo Fu was one of the winners of the 21st Tamkang Elite Award. Presently, he resides in Vancouver, Canada. Winning various poetic creation awards, including China Times Literature Recommendation Award, Chung Shan Literature and Arts Creation Award, and National Literature and Arts Award, he was a distinguished contemporary poet, well-known among Chinese-speaking countries.

TKU PASSED THE CHECK ON FACILITIES FOR THE DISABLES
President of Free Universe Education Foundation, Tang Feng-jeng visited and evaluated the campus of TKU for the “Check on Facilities for The Disables in Colleges,” held by Ministry of Education, on December 11. After the check and interview, President Tang and inspector Liu Shin-rong held meeting with Dr. Lo Yunn-chyr, Dean of General Affairs, Dr. Keh Huan-chao, Dean of Academic Affairs, Liang Ching-hua, member of the Construction and Repair Section, and Dr. Jeng Hoang-ell, Associate Professor of Dept. of Architecture, who participated in designing the facilities for the disables. The percentage of satisfaction in this check is above 90%.

GREENING COMMUNITIES COMPETITION: STUDENTS OF DEPT. OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE AND MANAGEMENT AND DEPT. OF SOFTWARE ENGINEERING WERE AWARDED
Langyang Campus, TKU and Loudong Forest District Office of Forestry Bureau co-held the competition for “2007 Greening Local Communities” on Dec. 9 and Dec. 15, 2007. Sophomores of Department of Landscape Architecture and Management were awarded for excellence and creativity with the works “Returning to Innocence,” and “Geometric Hsuehshan Tunnel.” Sophomores of Department of Software Engineering were also awarded for creativity with their work, “Garden in the Dream.” In addition to competition, the activity also include lectures, such as “The Role of Tamkang Lanyang Campus in the Community” by Dr. In-ho Lin, Associate Professor of Department of Software Engineering, and “Community Forestry” by Hung-jung Lin, Director-general of Loudong Forest District Office, at CL328. The contest took place on Dec. 15, with ten groups joining in the competition, including seven excellent community groups outside the school and three groups of Tamknag students. Four awards are for high distinction, three awards for excellence, and three awards for creativity.
