Tamkang University Begins to Formally Use Linux Platform on Her Campus

A press conference was held on October 4, 2 P.M. at Hsi Hwa Hotel, Taipei in which Dr. Flora C.I. Chang, V.P. for Administrative Affairs, formally announced the installation of Linux Platform on T.K.U. campus. It is the first time that the higher- education institution in the history of Taiwan has utilized such a facility, Dr. Chang proudly reminded us.

Faculty Often Forgot to logon their Syllabi ahead of Time: An Oversight That Needs to be Addressed

Faculty of Tamkang University have often been reminded by Office of Academic Affairs to write their syllabi ahead of time and have them securely logon the website to help out students to work out a feasible study program. However, up till last Wednesday (October 3), only 65% of them have abided by this request, with the exception of the College of Sciences and College of Technology. Their logon rate hit an all time high: 90%. If anyone should be interested in the breakdown, here are some of the figures:

Tamking University’s Cyclist Performed Stunning Feat on Highland in China

A highly competitive cyclist race testing human stamina was held between 2l and 24 September in Korla City, Xinjiang, Mainland China. The race was considered tough because each contestant would have to finish the race on an elevated territory, circa l,500 m. above sea level, and cover a distance of 533 km. at one stretch.
